The inaccessibility and unreliability of period products for many women, particularly those from low-income communities, are largely influenced by the menstrual taboo and lack of innovation in this area. A staggering 70 percent of women cannot afford sanitary napkins, leading them to resort to homemade alternatives. Unfortunately, awareness about this issue remains low among these communities. To address this issue, the government has initiated awareness programs on menstrual hygiene and mandated the installation of sanitary napkin vending machines in all educational institutions and workplaces. This move aims to combat the high dropout rates among adolescent girls caused by inadequate sanitation facilities. These SAPI VENDl sanitary napkin vending machines are invaluable resources for young girls and women, serving as essential feminine hygiene products. They provide comfort and convenience, allowing women to manage their periods with ease and without stress. Regular changing of napkins every four to five hours is recommended to prevent reproductive tract infections and skin rashes, irrespective of the flow being heavy or light.
